主讲人简介：

Dr. Tong自2022年1月起担任佐治亚理工学院化学与生物分子工程学院的终身副教授及James C. Barber Faculty Fellow。她于2025年当选为美国化学工程师学会 (AICHE) 会士，并于2024年当选为国际木材科学学院 (IAWS) 会士，现任佐治亚理工学院可再生生物产品研究所 (RBI)在食品-水-能源关联领域废物资源化利用的项目负责人。此前，她自2010年起在佛罗里达大学担任助理教授及副教授。2007年，她在佐治亚理工学院获得化学工程博士学位，随后于2007-2009年间在CH2M Hill公司任职。她的研究重点包括：1) 合成功能性可持续材料；2) 通过催化转化从可再生资源中制备生物化学品和生物燃料；3) 数据驱动的过程控制与机器学习。她已发表80多篇论文和4项专利。

Dr. Tong has been an Associate Professor and James C. Barber Faculty Fellow in the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Georgia Tech since January 2022. She was selected as a fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AICHE) in 2025 and a fellow of the International Academy of Wood Science (IAWS) in 2024. She is the initiative leader in waste valorization in the food-water-energy nexus of the Renewable Bioproduct Institute (RBI) at Georgia Tech. Previously, she served as an assistant and associate professor since 2010 at the University of Florida. She earned her Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Georgia Tech in 2007, followed by work at Ch2M Hill until 2009. Tong’s research focuses on 1) synthesizing functional sustainable materials, 2) catalytic conversion for biochemicals and biofuels from renewable resources; 3) Data-driven process control and Machine learning. She has published over eighty journal papers and 4 patents.
